As an homage to one of my favorite scenes in one of my favorite films, I created an 8-bit version of this scene. I'm fascinated by stillness in motion-based mediums, so I really wanted to capture that in this project. Only Toni Collette's character and the sky are in motion. To create the 8-bit look, I created a giant array of small squares in illustrator, and used the live painting feature to fill them in. The animation was done in After Effects, and the gif exported through photoshop after a few touch ups.
