This is Latte the Cat’s first Christmas, and she’s excited about all the festivities. The new indoor tree is a lot of fun to play in, the gift wrap is great for scratching, and most of all, she likes watching the snow. In this animation, Latte is perched on her window sill, watching the flurries and occasionally letting us know that it’s still snowing.
This animation was illustrated in Adobe Illustrator, then moved to After Effects for animating. The head turn animation was aided by this tutorial by Tony Babel, specifically in the whiskers, which were more difficult than I was anticipating.
In sadder news, this will most likely be the last animation done by my MacBook Pro. This computer is almost six years old, and is ready to retire. My MacBook plans to enjoy its retirement serving the remainder of its life as a NetFlix machine. It will truly be missed.
